Absence during appointment

Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that a patient doesn’t show up for his/her dentist appointment. This can have many causes. We will always wait for a while when you are absent during your appointment. If it turns out that you are absent, then we will send a letter. In this letter we will provide you with information about the missed appointment and its consequences.


Cancel appointments at least 48 hours in advance

Appointments can be canceled by the patient at least 48 hours in advance without any cost. In extreme cases of emergency we would like to receive your cancellation preferably in the morning. In case of no cancellation(s) within 48 hours prior to the appointment, the practice reserves the right to charge fees for the reserved time when no other clients could be treated or other honored activities could be performed.

If for any reason you can’t attend the appointment, then this must be communicated to DentalZorg by telephone at least 48 hours in advance on working days during office hours. The weekend starting from Friday afternoon 05.00 p.m. and holidays are not included in this. For appointments that are not kept or canceled less than 48 hours in advance, the costs for the reserved room will be charged.


Our SMS- and E-mail service

Before your appointment you will receive from us, on time, an e-mail, SMS or both to remind you of your appointment. Your data, like phone number and e-mail address, being up to date is necessary for this. Regarding this we would like to emphasize to please make sure that you always provide the latest personal details and inform us about any changes(if any). you yourself are responsible of DentalZorg having the latest data. You can think of this as an extra reminder. With this service you can also ensure that you cancel your appointment on time, if necessary.

The SMS-service is meant as an extra reminder for the patient. The patient expressly cannot derive any rights from our SMS service or claim that he did not receive it or received it too late. Not receiving a reminder via SMS of receiving it too late does not dismiss the patient from his obligation to fulfill an appointment.


The costs

DentalZorg bills the costs of the treatment to you including general anesthesia and implantology. This is in accordance with the guidelines of the KNMT (Koninkljike Nederlandse Maatschappij tot bevordering der Tandheelkunde).


Why do we charge fees?

When you are absent, a treatment room stays empty. Because there is a team ready, consisting of the dental hygienist or the dentist and the dental assistant. They cannot provide dental care at that given time. When an appointment is scheduled, that time has been set aside for you and when it is missed, that time cannot be used to treat other patients who needed urgent or necessary dental care. For this reason, we are forced to pass these costs on to you.
