Placing click dentures, how does that work?

With click dentures you will have two or more implants placed in the lower and upper jaw. These are metal rods that are placed in the jawbone where the dentures are clicked into place. An implant is therefore the basis of a crown, bridge or click denture. A dental implant can be compared to an artificial tooth root and keeps the click dentures in place.

Implants are made of a body-friendly material, usually titanium with a ceramic coating. This makes an implant very strong and durable, so that it generally lasts a lifetime.

What are the differences between dentures and click dentures?

Dentures are loose in the mouth. Click dentures are clicked into implants but can still be removed from the mouth. In practical situations, dentures can become loose, for example while eating or swimming. In addition, a click denture ensures that your jaws shrink less and your face will sag less. Furthermore, pressure spots are rare with click dentures. Another advantage is that the palate remains free. For some people, this may feel more comfortable than full dentures.

The treatment of click dentures is more radical than with dentures. When measuring dentures, there is no surgical intervention by the dentist-implantologist. You will also have to take into account a longer healing process than when extracting teeth to dentures.

The dental implantologist will discuss and map a number of factors with you before treatment can take place:

Costs and reimbursement of click dentures

There are situations in which you receive a reimbursement from the basic insurance, for example if you have a toothless jaw that has shrunk so much that dentures no longer fit. In that case, a personal contribution of € 150 per jaw still applies. If you do not qualify for this, it is wise to see whether supplementary insurance is worthwhile. In addition to the dental costs, you also pay material and technical costs. In total, the costs can amount to € 5,000 or even more (depending on the number of implants).

Do you need a referral for click dentures?

Within Dentalzorg you do not need a referral letter to make an appointment for click dentures. This is the great advantage of Dentalzorg, we have almost all specialists under one roof. You have implants but you want click teeth

If you already have implants, you will receive an immediate appointment with the dental implantologist. The dental implantologist will check the implants and map out your dental situation. Your implants will also be checked during this appointment and cleaned if necessary. Do you no longer have your own teeth and do you need to replace your click dentures? Then we can submit an application to your health insurer.

In most cases, we receive approval within a very short period of time. After receiving approval, we immediately start the treatment process. Depending on the health insurer, we do not have to submit an application in certain situations. The next step is that you come by to measure and manufacture your new click dentures. This usually consists of five visits. We can often provide you with new click dentures within 5 working days.

Do you urgently need new dentures?

In special situations we can also provide you with new click dentures within 5 working days. You can think of missing or irreparable damage to your click teeth. Or if you have another urgent reason to be fitted with new click dentures.

The treatment for click teeth under anesthesia

At Dentalzorg you can also have your click denture treatment performed under anesthesia if you are extremely anxious and there is a treatment delay. With a general anesthetic treatment you will not feel or notice anything of the implant treatment. You can contact us for complete dental treatment to click teeth. At the moment we offer a general anesthetic promotional rate of € 299, – regardless of the duration. This is a temporary rate.
