Every 6 months we invite you for a periodic check-up at the dentist. During this check:
- the dentist checks the condition of your teeth for cavities and inflammation;
can the dentist detect abnormalities and disease processes in teeth and molars at an early stage. - the dentist discusses the condition of your teeth and can possibly give you tips or advice on the maintenance of your teeth.
- if necessary, the dentist takes X-rays to, for example, check the condition of fillings and to make a better analysis if one or more cavities are found.
- the dentist can make a follow-up appointment and a treatment plan.

During the periodic check-up, the dentist may find something that makes you need a follow-up appointment. A filling, extraction or root canal treatment can be treated by the dentist in almost all cases. Your dentist will then discuss the follow-up treatment with you. We always try to schedule a fixed treatment plan and with the same dentist. This gives you peace of mind and a familiar feeling and you know exactly where you stand.
A referral to another practitioner
There are certain situations in which your dentist cannot perform the treatment himself. You will receive a referral in complex situations. It is also possible that you will have more than one practitioner, such as for the manufacture and measurement of dentures.
Because we have almost all specialists under one roof, a follow-up appointment is arranged immediately and you remain in the trusted environment of DentalZorg. We will always do our utmost to schedule combined appointments consecutively.

No fixed amount for a check
Unfortunately, there is no fixed amount for a periodic check. This is because every situation is different. The above amounts are therefore indicative amounts for the total amount of a dental check-up. When you receive a budget from us, it is therefore possible that the amounts may differ. You can not claim any rights to this.
Ask your dentist for an indication of the costs
If the dentist expects the treatment costs to be higher than € 250, a budget must be signed. This also applies to the expected material and technical costs. You can always ask yourself in advance for an indication of the final costs.
Is a periodic checkup covered by the basic insurance?
If you are older than 18, the costs for a periodic check-up at the dentist are not reimbursed under the basic insurance. Do you have additional insurance? Then a check-up appointment is partly or fully reimbursed, depending on which health insurance policy you have. Always check with your insurance company. Children up to the age of 18 are fully insured under the basic insurance for a periodic check-up at the dentist.
Prevention is better than cure
It is possible that a cavity or tooth decay is not immediately noticeable. You will notice very little or nothing of this in the short term. If you do not visit the dentist or visit it irregularly, this can cause a lot of damage in the long term. This increases the risk of inflammation or even losing teeth and molars. That is why it is important to prevent rather than cure.

Taking your children to the dentist for the first time?
Do you want to visit the dentist with your kids for the first time? Starting from the age two is a great age to take your child (or children) with you for the first time. This is possible, for example, if you go for a check-up yourself. Your child can look around in the practice at the very first visit and get to know our friendly dentists and dental assistant.
